How does Affirm work?

Affirm gently treats the area with enhancing micro-pulses of light to help stimulate collagen production, making skin appear more supple and full, while helping to treat wrinkles. The Affirm also treats discoloration, a common condition associated with aging skin that results in age and sun spots.

Can Affirm treat wrinkles, or any age-related skin condition?

The Affirm treatment is specifically designed to diminish the effects of time on the skin such as wrinkles, photo-aging, and other conditions.

What is CAP Technology?

CAP stands for Combined Apex Pulse technology. The proprietary CAP technology is specifically designed for the 1440nm Nd:YAG laser. The CAP diffractive lens array provides a unique delivery and distribution of energy to the treatment area.

How does CAP work?

The CAP array is a proprietary lens construction that consists of approximately 1,000 diffractive elements per centimeter square to affect more surface area per single pulse. CAP technology delivers "apex" pulses of high fluence regions for collagen remodeling, surrounded by a low fluence collagen stimulating treatment zone. This combined action improves treatment efficacy, while minimizing the side effects experienced with existing methods.

What is the benefit of the 1440nm Nd:YAG wavelength?

Affirm with 1440nm has a higher absorption for water and melanin compared to fractional-type devices, therefore using less energy to affect the target area.

The fractional-type devices using a 1540nm wavelength have a depth of penetration that is 2.0 ? 2.5 times greater than the Affirm, thereby affecting areas outside the zone of photodamaged skin.
