HOW IT WORKS

J-Plasma uses of Cold Atmospheric Gas Plasma (CAP) as a source of plasma energy and directs the energy selectively to ablate (remove) tissue through insertion of a probe under the skin. . By treating tissue with CAP we are able to target, at a cellular level, collagen and other important contributors to skin laxity and induce an immediate response. Treatment is tailored specifically to the needs of each patient.

Unlike laser and radiofrequency (RF) devices that have been used for similar purposes, the helium plasma that is generated is extraordinarily selective in the amount of tissue that is removed with each pass of the probe. This means that the chance of damage to surrounding tissue is smaller, resulting in potentially less downtime and fewer complications.

Is This Procedure Uncomfortable ?

The entire procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Patients are awake and comfortable during the entire procedure. Patients report that the treated areas feel “tight” for several weeks after the procedure.

What’s the Downtime?

There are only a few tiny incisions in which the cannulas and probes are inserted. Patients are generally very comfortable during and after the procedure. There may be some soreness and a “tight” sensation for several weeks. Patients are encouraged to move around and stay active. Patients can return to normal activities after just a few days. Garments and bandages should be worn for 1-2 weeks.

One Treatment For Most Patients

Most clients will only require one treatment. After the treatment, the area will continue to improve for up to one year. Occasionally, patients may require a second treatment to further improve the appearance.
